The Malaria Atlas Project is a strong advocate of open and free access. All components of our work are available for use by other groups on an open access or unrestricted basis.

Our maps are available to all users under the “Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License” and can be downloaded from this site. We ask that any use of these maps provides the correct citation.

MAP’s Data Platform provides annual modelled estimates of malaria burden, endemicity and intervention coverage. Explore country and subnational estimates in Trends, or explore 5km grid-cell-level estimates in Maps.

MAP publishes annual modelled malaria incidence and prevalence estimates in country and subnational (admin1/state) tables, alongside gridded maps.

The survey records and routine case data we collate are not owned by the Malaria Atlas Project but if the data has come from a public source, or if the source of the data has provided permission, they are available for download.

There are no restrictions to access or use of the data but we request that the original source details (provided with all data downloads) are cited.

We also make the source code for our in-house generic model-based geostatistics package, GMP, available under a Gnu Public License.
