Dr. Saman Akbar Zadeh

Research Officer Team: Global Malaria Epidemiology


Saman holds a PhD in data science and brings substantial experience in modelling, inferential statistics, and developing machine learning and deep learning algorithms. He has undertaken a variety of research projects in the area of machine learning and artificial intelligent including developing statistical models for medical sensors, creating algorithms for real-time weed detection, and environmental modelling of solar cells. He also has experience as a lecturer and statistical and academic advisor at Edith Cowan University.

Saman is currently interested in bringing his data science experiences to the MAP team to map and provide statistical and predictive analysis with the focus to respond sub-nationally, nation-wide and globally to the burden of P. falciparum and P. vivax malaria.
