Paul is a data scientist and mathematician who joined MAP in September 2020. His role is to build algorithms to improve the collection, quality assurance, manipulation, analysis, interpretation and dissemination of epidemiological data.
Before joining MAP, he completed a PhD on the fractal dimension of invariant sets in dynamical billiard systems, at the University of Western Australia. After that, he moved from pure mathematics to data science. In his Masters project he worked with the UWA Systems Health Lab to predict pipe blockages with Bayesian statistics.
